Small Business
- Private businesses in our county account for over 46,000 jobs, which are vitally important to our local economy. The ability to ensure a healthy, vibrant, atmosphere for their success is paramount to our county's success.
- Small business growth is important- they create JOBS!
- I will work with the legislature and local city and county officials to develop a plan to encourage the start up of small businesses in District 13.
- Small businesses have already received a 70% tax increase in their state unemployment fund rates; such large tax increases are suffocating small businesses.
- It is important not to allow the state legislature to look to small businesses alone to fund a state financial bail out.
- Small businesses have a sincere interest in the welfare of their employees and the ability to keep them working on the job.
- Too much government intervention and "rules" will choke the entrepreneurial spirit necessary for recovery in our area.
- I will work with the Idaho State Department of Agriculture and area Chambers of Commerce to assist in the promotion and marketing of Canyon County's goods, services, and farm products, which originate in District 13.
